Psychology vs Counselling
Both provide intervention using psychotherapy.
Differences:
Psychologists perform a range of diagnostic and intellectual assessments
What to expect in session?
Engaging sessions using toys, equipment and purposeful activities.
Sessions focus on building complete skills rather than talk, explain and now use a strategy we educated on.
Outdated methods of explaining how to manage anxiety or dysregulation will NOT be used. Instead we will assess and understand the skills challenges, building coping strategies via developing cognition and planning functions or another skill which be underlying the challenge.
Our psychotherapists are highly trained in theory of mind and will support clients in developing a range of purposeful social, emotional and reasoning skills.
